These are the real numbers we quote at the door for a standard house in our area. A job that's harder than standard gets quoted higher before we start, in writing, and you can say no and owe nothing.

Up to 100 ft from the cleanout. Roots included — we don't charge extra for what we find.

Includes gas line resize and venting. We'll tell you honestly if your house is a bad candidate.

The reason a plumber says "I'll have to order the part" is that the part isn't on the truck. Marcus restocks Monday morning from the list below, which covers roughly nine out of ten calls we get. It's why we usually finish in one visit.

Who shows up

Two plumbers. You'll get one of them.

Dale has been under houses in Wayne Township since 1994, back when he ran calls out of a Ford Ranger with a rodder strapped in the bed. Marcus finished his apprenticeship in 2019 and does most of the water heaters now.

There's no dispatcher, no call center, and no rotating cast of subcontractors. When you call, one of the two of them answers, and one of the two of them is the person who walks into your house. If Dale says he'll be there at eight, that's a promise from the man who will be standing on your porch.

Boot covers go on at the door. The shop vac comes in on every drain job. We leave the bathroom cleaner than we found it, because Dale's mother would hear about it otherwise.

Things people ask before they call.

Is the price on that list really the price?

For a standard house in our area, yes. If your situation is harder than standard — a slab that has to be opened, galvanized pipe that crumbles when touched, a heater in a crawlspace you can't stand up in — we quote the higher number at your door before starting, and you can turn us down at no charge. What we don't do is start at the book price and then discover reasons to raise it once the water is off.

What does after-hours actually cost?

Ninety-five dollars added to the job price, between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m., plus weekends and holidays. There's no separate emergency rate, no doubled labor, and no premium for a holiday.

Are you licensed and insured?

Licensed plumbing contractor PC81900412 through the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, and we carry general liability and workers' comp. Ask to see either one at the door and we'll hand it over.

Can I supply my own fixture?

Yes, and plenty of people do. We'll install a faucet or toilet you bought yourself at the labor price in the book. The 12-month warranty then covers our work, though not the fixture itself.

Do you work on commercial buildings?

No. Houses, duplexes and small rentals only. A restaurant or a strip mall needs a bigger outfit than two people, and we'd rather tell you that now than learn it on your job.
